DNN TECH Safety, Security and Safeguards (3S) Summer School for Advanced and Small Modular Reactors

DNN TECH’s 3S Summer School for Advanced Reactors will leverage the expertise of SNL, INL and ORNL collaborators in fully integrated Safety, Security and Safeguard, covering all aspects of nuclear energy from basic science to technology development for advanced nuclear reactors and their lifecycle. The 3S summer school is delivered in rotation between national laboratory partner sites, the school will train students in principles related to technology and culture which can provide credible assurance that advanced nuclear reactors are simultaneously compliant with 3S using technology (e.g., instrumentation) and methods (e.g., data science). Bringing together the experience and expertise of the National Laboratory to investigate potential solutions through presentations, table-top exercises, and dialogue in breakout sessions provided a breadth of information on the current state of 3S—and potential future needs.
